Back in 2006 we ran this campaign to find the six hotly tipped gorgeous girl gamers who’dbe spearheading the Spring-Summer 2007 campaign. The girls were chosen from over 300 applicants because of their love for video games, their modelling potential or experience and their star quality....

Joystick Junkies did not set out to create another girl gaming clan or booth babe bonanza, the aim was to establish a group of credible models-come-gamers who could help take video games and the Joystick Junkies fashion brand in to new and unusual places. In fact it’s not just girls, the label is now looking for two extra guys to join our existing model and Street Fighter II fan Sal recruited in 2005.
The final group of six girls and three guys will be fronting the Joystick Junkies Spring-Summer 2007 campaign which will include fashion shoots, jetting around the world to run cool gaming events & parties, hosting TV shows, touring fashion stores and hanging out at celebrity parties. Not bad eh? There's more pictures and info on the final six girls below - they'll soon have their own webpage where they'll be talking about what they're playing, what they've been up to and details of special events.
The Joystick Junkies first appearance is on August 13th at Ripseed Donny show where the girls will be hosting The Extreme Sports Channel's televised video games tournament Pro Videogaming: Project Gotham Racing 3 and organising a massive Girls vs Boys play-off!
The Girls Are Looking For Two Lads To Join Them!
The Joystick Junkies girls are now launching a big challenge for the lads. They're looking for two hot guys who reckon they're game enough to work with them at their events, parties and photoshoots, helping to promote Joystick Junkies Spring-Summer 2007 range. The girls themselves will be hosting the castings so expect some tough treatment and make sure you know your games!
If you want to apply to the castings, which will take place in London, send a picture and details of yourself and your favourite video games to boys@joystickjunkies.com or by post to Joystick Junkies, Charlcote House, 101 Crawford Street, London. W1H 2HP. Please include an SAE if you would like your photograph returned. You should be between the ages of 18-30 and based in or with easy access to London. Modelling experience is ideal but not vital to your application.

Aaliyah J - 22 year old Londoner Aaliyah is a regular model in the papers. She's got all the consoles but says her top games are Zelda & Marvel Heroes vs Street Fighter but loves the gun toting action in Time Crisis or House of the Dead. Aaliyah also loves illustration and is developing her own photography skills.
Aaliyah says, "I am a very sociable person, I love to meet new people with similar interests - games being one of them. I also like to draw illustrations & pin-up style cartoons, practice my photography and am working at my martial arts (shotokan karate). I dance for the Hed Kandi and Pushca events around London as well as appearing in magazines and newspapers"

Carmell R - 24 year old Carmell from Pinner is a model and actress who has blinged up her Xbox Crystal but owns pretty much every console that's been released. Man she knows her games and will argue you in to the dirt about whether Vice City is better than San Andreas! She's a massive fan of the Sega Saturn so will be looking for some old school matches with the lads and testing their knowledge.
Carmell says, "I love all kinds of games like Street fighter, Daytona, Mario, Sonic to Grand theft auto. I have been gaming since games were tape cassettes!! Since a child every birthday or Christmas I'd get the latest console and have owned pretty much all of them even rare ones like neo geo. I was always the only girl in a gang of boys playing computers every day, and I have beaten them all so they know better than to think girls can't play! I'd like to teach that to some more of you that doubt women's gaming abilities!!"
Carmell currently owns a PS2, Gameboy, Xbox, DS, Sega Saturn (her favourite) and has had the Lynx, Game Gear and Dreamcast to name a few
Charlotte W - 24 year old Charlotte from Berkshire is our gaming PR queen who we discovered had a flair for modelling. She's just finished promoting the latest Gauntlet Seven Sorrows but has become an expert on the old school Gauntlet in the process and is looking forward to playing with the girls on Gauntlet now it's on Xbox Live Arcade. She's also a big fan of Mario Kart but excels at Street Fighter 2 which is interesting as she regularly trains in Karate and Muay Thai.
Charlotte says, "I have grown up with a strict gaming upbringing, haha! From the age of about 7, I have had to fight my two brothers for the Commodore 64, then the nes, and then the snes, and so on! These days, I get involved at home and with friends on the PS2 and the Xbox, and I am most looking forward to getting hold of the new Nintendo DS which is totally sleek. I think I could definitely do with having a Wii too ;-) as ultimately I am a Nintendo girl at heart. Other than gaming I love boogying away at clubs with my friends at the weekend, horse riding, and martial arts training when I can. I love watching martial arts films, Bruce Lee is my hero although Muay Thai king Tony Jaa is a close runner up – Ong Bak is spectacular, and there is soon to be a sequel!. I love traveling and hope to some day work abroad, hopefully in the far east."
Charlotte currently owns a PS2 but has also owned a Nintendo, Super Nintendo and a Gameboy
Elise W- 21 year old Elise from Basildon is a ten pin bowling, deep sea diving gaming goddess. She's always beating her boyfriend at Burnout and has so far collected the whole series. Elise also loves action adventure games like Primal and Blood Rayne and has owned pretty much every system from the Atari onwards
Elise says, "I've been into gaming since I discovered space invaders and haven't looked back since, I've owned and tried pretty much all gaming systems over the years and enjoy the destruction in games which is why I love Burnout, for the crashes and especially the takedowns. I'm also into dragons and reptiles so much so I have 2 dragon tattoos, a pet water dragon lizard and my car is covered in dragons!"
Currently owns a PS2 and PSP, previously has owned the Mega Drive, Gameboy, Sega Master System and Game Gear.
Emma W - 23 year old Emma from Maidenhead loves her shooting games; Halo 2, Doom, Ghost Recon, Call of Duty and regularly toys with the boys on Xbox Live. When she's not playing games she's working on her singing or getting dirty outdoors knee boarding, racing quad bikes or paintballing.
Emma say, "I loved playing Golden Axe and North & South when i was little. Ive never been a girl who minds getting her hands dirty, i love so many things. I love paintballing, quad biking, fishing, playing computer games. I have 2 dogs and one cat they're great!!!! I have an Xbox 360, im not like most girls, i like the first person shooter games and strategy games. I absolutely loved Splinter cell (choas therory) and Halo 2. So far i have completed project dark, king kong, Kameo and am currently playing Hitman. I remember playing my first online game when broadband was not even talked about, Half Life it was great but it was soooo slow!!!"
Emma currently has an Xbox 360 and plays regularly on Xbox Live
Samantha T - 20 year old Sam is a student at Southampton Univeristy studying for a degree in film & TV production. She recently organised a video games tournament at college and loves her shooting games including Halo 2 & Medal of Honour but she's also partial to Hitman and the Godfather so watch out lads...
Sam says, "I'm hoping to be a movie director one day! I am outgoing, adventuous and enjoy being active and out and about. Of course i love video games! i was weaned onto the good old master system! I have already reserved my PS3! I assure if you play with me your always going to have a laugh i may even let you win..."
